EXPLORATORY-BOLD-PLAYFUL-COMPASSIONATE

Buglight Theatre are a touring theatre company based in Doncaster making high-quality theatre for audiences across the UK and beyond.  We love stories and we are passionate about sharing them. We embrace experimentation, collaboration and new ways of working and telling stories. We make work that aims to entertain, provoke conversation and encourage empathy.  We are a small company with big ambitions.

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME?

Bugs are attracted to light. Glow worms, fire fly’s, they light up a night sky. Buglight brings you their brand of theatre and shines a light in the darkness. We often shine a light on society, the unseen, unheard and under represented. We explore untold stories, or well known stories from a unique perspective.

WHAT MAKES US TICK?

We believe everyone should have access to theatre and are committed to reaching audiences who might not be able to afford it or don’t believe it’s for them. We are passionate about regional theatre and creating opportunities for local artists. We are striving to become an inclusive company, able to support parents, working class artists and those who don’t feel represented or supported.
